Bowral Classic – Road Closure Details & Community Fun

The countdown is on! The Southern Highlands will once again play host to cycling enthusiasts from across Australia and abroad for the annual Bowral Classic cycling Gran Fondo.

This year’s Bowral Classic will take place on the weekend of 18 – 19 October, attracting thousands of riders and visitors to the Southern Highlands region. Cyclists will tackle local hills on course such as Oxley Hill and Mt Gibraltar. The community is encouraged to come out and enjoy the festivities, cheer on participants, and take part in the family-friendly activities at the Bowral Classic Event Village.

Located at Loseby Park in the heart of Bowral, the Event Village will be open to everyone, with a vibrant atmosphere featuring local food and drink vendors, live entertainment, cycling exhibitors, and activities for all ages. Entry is free, making it the perfect day out for families and community members wanting to be part of the action. The Event Village is open 10am – 4pm Saturday 18 to Sunday 19 October, with the main action taking place on the Sunday.

To ensure the safety of all participants, there will be limited road closures across the Southern Highlands on Sunday, 19 October. The full list of closures, including maps and timings, is available online at www.bowralclassic.com.au/community. Community members are encouraged to review the details ahead of the event to plan their travel accordingly.

Event Director, Vanessa Burges, said the Bowral Classic is as much about the community as it is about the cyclists.

“The Bowral Classic has become a highlight on the event calendar, not just for riders but for the Southern Highlands community as a whole. We want locals to come along, cheer at the start line, enjoy the Event Village, and share in the excitement of welcoming thousands of visitors to the region.”
